Ingredients
Pressure cook
Daal - 1/2 cupTomato - 3 cubed (about 1 cup)
Onion - 1 medium cubed (about 1 cup)
Corriander leaves - 1/4 cup (coarsely chopped)
Tamarind - 1/2 lime size
Chili powder - 2 tbp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Tadka
Garlic - 3-4 clovesOil - 2 tbsp
Red chili - 2-3 (broken into 2-3 pieces each)
Urad daal - 1 tsp
Channa daal - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Mustared - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 10-15 leaves
Preparation method
- Pressure cook all ingredients under 'Pressure cook' in 1 cup of water for 4 whistles
- Allow steam to dissipate and mash with masher
- Heat oil in a small pan
- Add mustared and fry until it splutters
- Add Jeera & chili and fry for a few seconds
- Add garlic and cook until light brown
- Add urad and channa daal. Fry until golden brown
- Add curry leaves. Add to daal and mix well
