Double ka Meeta

Ingredients

Bread slices - 12
Milk - 2 cups
Sugar - 2 cups
Water - 2 cups
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Safron - 3-4 strands
Khoa - 50 g
Pistachios - 1 tbsp
Almonds - 8-10
Ghee

Preparation Method

  • Cut out the edges of bread and cut the slices into 4  pieces. Dry them for 6-8 hours. Remember to flip them midway
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry almonds and pistachios until light brown
  • Fry the bread slices in ghee until golden brown
  • Boil sugar and water in a vessel until sugar is about 1 string consistency
  • Add bread slices and allow to soak
  • Add milk and cardamon. Mix well and cook until oil separates
  • Add Khoa and mix well
  • Add fried almonds and pistachips
Serve warm or cold. Tastes good with ice cream
