Potato Masala


Ingredients
Potatoes - 3 nos (chopped into 1/2 inch cubes)
Onions - 2 nos
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad daal - 2 tbsp
Curry leaves - 5-6 nos
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Chili powder - 2 tsp
Meat masala - 1 tsp


Preparation method

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds
  • Once the splutter, add cumin seeds and urad daal. Fry until light brown
  • Add curry leaves and saute for 30 seconds
  • Add onions and saute in medium heat until onion is translucent
  • Add turmeric powder and saute until light brown
  • Add ginger paste and cook for 2-3 minutes
  • Add potatoes and saute for 5 minutes
  • Add powders and salt. mix well and saute for another 5 minutes
  • Add water as required and cook covered until potatoes are cooked well
