Verum curry

Ingredients
Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
Shallots (Small onion) – 3-4
Green chili – 2
Garlic – 4-5 cloves
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Cumin – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves– 1 sprig
Tamarind paste – 1/2 tsp
Mustard – 1 tsp
Dry red chili - 3

Preparation Method

  • Grind coconut, shallots, green chili, garlic, a few curry leaves, turmeric powder cumin until a fine paste
  • Heat 2-3 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add mustard until it splutters
  • Add red chili and curry leaves and saute for a minute or so
  • Add the paste and 2-3 cups of water
  • Boil for 3-4 mins
Note: You can cook and add some kidney beans or black eyed peas to the curry
