Beans Poriyal with Potato

Ingredients:
Onion - 1 nos (finely chopped)
Beans - 250 grams (cut to 1/2 cm pieces)
Potatoes - 1 cut into 1 cm cubes
Moong daal - 2 tbsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad daal - 2 tbsp
Green chillis - 4 nos
Curry leaves - 10-12 nos
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut gratings - 1/2 cup


Oil
Salt


Preparation method

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and cumin seeds and fry for about a minute
  • Add moong daal and fry until light brown
  • Add green chillis and curry leaves. Fry for about a minute
  • Add onions and fry until light brown
  • Add potatoes and fry for 2-3 minutes
  • Add beans and fry for 2-3 minutes
  • Add cumin powder for 1 minute
  • Add salt as required
  • Cover pan and cook until done in medium heat. Add water as required
  • When done add coconut gratings and mix well
