Fish - 1 kg
Ingredients for masala
Chilly powder - 3 tbsp
Ginger paste - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Fennel powder - 1/2 tsp
Amchoor powder (Dry mango powder) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - As reqd
Preparation Method
- Clean fish and cut into pieces. Cut slits in the fish pieces for masala to seep through
- Mix ingredients for masala with water. I prefer using a food processor to mix evenly
- Marinate fish with masala for at least 1 hour. Usually spread the masala using my hands. I like to split the slits and stuff it with masala
- Heat oil in a pan. I prefer using a pool of oil 1/2 inch high
- Deep fry the fish until golden brown on both sides. Flip as you see fit
