Idli podi or Dosa podi

Ingredients

Channa daal (regular) - 1/4 cup
Urad daal - 1/2 cup
Sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Red chili - 10-12
Salt - 1 tsp (or as per taste)

Preparation method

  • Roast channa daal for a few minutes. As it starts browning add urad daal. Continue roasting until light brown
  • Roast sesame seeds separately
  • Roast red chilis
  • Grind sesame seeds finely. Keep aside
  • Grind red chili, salt and hing. Add urad and channa daal and grind to a lightly coarse powder. 
  • Add sesame powder and grind for a few seconds
