Black-eyed peas curry

Ingredients

Black-eyed peas - 1 cup
Shallots - 4-6 
Garlic - 4-5 pods
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Curry leaves - 10-12
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Red chili - 3-4

Method


  1. Soak black eyed peas in water with a tsp of salt for 8 hours or so
  2. Pressure cook black eyed peas for 4-5 whistles. Allow pressure to release
  3. Grind about quarter cup of cooked blacked eyed peas with the rest of the ingredients with as little water as possible
  4. Mix masala, cooked blacked eyed, water and salt. Cook for 10-12 mins in medium heat
  5. Option: Tadka of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves
