Chicken Saag

Ingredients

Oil - 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Cloves - 3-4
Cinnamon sticks - 1 inch
Onion - 2 cups (chopped 1/2 inch)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
Chili powder - 1 tbsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Curds - 1/4 cup (drained)
Cream - 2 tbsp

Preparation method


  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon. Fry for a few seconds
  2. Add onion and fry until brown
  3. Add ginger garlic paste. Fry for 2 mins or so
  4. Add powders and fry for a min. Do not burn
  5. Add chicken and salt. Fry in medium-low heat until all water has evaporated
  6. Add curds and cook for 3-5 mins
  7. Add ground spinach. Cook for 3-5 mins
  8. Add 1 cup boiling water and cook for 10-15 mins
  9. Remove from head and add cream
