Ingredients
Mutton - 2 lbsDrumsticks - 3
Onion - 2 (chopped finely to 2 cups)
Green chili - 5-6 (slit)
Tomato - 2 (diced into 1/2 inch cubes - 1 cup)
Poppy seeds - 1.5 tbsp (soaked and ground to fine paste)
Cloves - 5
Cardamom - 2-3
Cinnamon - 2 inch piece
Ginger-Garlic paste - 3 tbsp
Corriander powder - 2 tbsp
Chili powder - 1.5 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Preparation method
- Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker
- Add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and saute for a minute or so
- Saute onions until light brown
- add Green chilis and Ginger-garlic paste. Saute for 3-4 mins
- Add tomatoes and cook until mushy
- Add mutton and cook for 10-12 mins in medium heat
- Add poppy seed paste. Cook for 2-3 mins
- Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Allow to cool
- Add powders and cook for 2-3 mins
- Add drumsticks
- Add salt and adjust as required
- Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Allow to cool
- Add curry leaves and coriander leaves and cook for 4-5 mins in simmer
