Ingredients

Toor daal - 1/4 cup

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander stems - 2-3 inch long (~ 1 cup)
Tomatoes - 1/2 cup (cubed)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Rasam powder (Sakthi) - 1 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp

Ginger (Crushed) - 1 tbsp
Garlic (Crushed) - 1 tbsp

Oil
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dried red chili - 2
Curry leaves - 1 or 2 springs

Method

  • Pressure cook 1/4 cup of Toor dal with 1.5 cups of water for 4-5 whistles
  • In a vessel add cooked daal, daal water, cumin seeds, coriander stems, tomatoes, turmeric powder, rasam powder and hing. Bring to boil and cook for 4-5 mins
  • Add crushed ginger and garlic. Bring to boil for a min. Turn off
  • Make tadka with oil, cumin seeds, dried red chili and curry leaves. Add to rasam!
