Vettu Cake (Snack)

Ingredients

AP flour / maida - 1 cups
Rava - tbsp (optional)
Sugar - 1 cup (make fine caster or powder in mixie)
Elaichi powder - 1/2 tsp
Eggs - 2 eggs
Baking soda - 1/4-1/3 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Warm milk - as required

Method

  • Beat/Whisk eggs well together
  • Add sugar and mix well. Optional: Add 1 or 2 flakes of safron for color
  • Add Elaichi powder, salt and baking soda. mix well
  • Add AP flour / maida. Mix well (use hands). Add milk as needed to make a dough (bread, chapathi, parotta consistency)
  • Rest for at least 15 mins. Preferably a couple of hours. 
  • Make lemon size balls. 
  • Heat oil in a pan to be able to deep fry. Deep fry in medium heat until golden brown (lower the heat enough to cook the entire ball)
