Ingredients
Cake
Baking flour - 1.5 cups (All-purpose + Baking powder) _OR_All purpose flour - 1.5 cups
Baking powder - 1 tsp
2 eggs _OR_ 1/2 cup yogurt/curds
Butter - 1/2 cup (softened)
Sugar - 1 cup
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Milk - 1 cup
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Black walnuts - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Cheesecream
Unsalted butter - 1/4 cup (softened)Cream cheese - 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Confectioner's sugar - 2 cups
Instant coffee powder - 1 -1.5 tsp
Preparation method
Cake
- Mix dry ingredients flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon together
- If eggs, separate egg whites from yolk. Beat whites to stiff peak
- In a mixing bowl, butter and sugar until soft and light.
- Add yolk (yogurt) and vanilla. Mix well
- Alternate dry ingredients and milk and mix well. Do this in 3 portions
- Add walnuts and mix thoroughly
- If using eggs, fold in egg whites
- Pour this batter into 9-10 inch greased pan and bake in preheated oven at 350F for 45 mins or done
Cream cheese
- Beat the butter, salt and cream cheese until light and fluffy
- Add confectioners' sugar in small portions and continue mixing until smooth and creamy
- Dissolve the coffee powder in 1 tsp of water
- Add coffee decoction and mix thoroughly
