Ingredients

Butter - 8 tbsp
Sugar - 2 cups
Eggs - 3 (at room temp)
Flour - 2 1/4 cups (sifted)
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Baking powder - 1 tbsp
Milk - 1 1/4 cups 
Strawberries - 250 gms (blended into a syrup)
Jello strawberry flavor - 3 oz (Vegan options available)

Method

  • Mix salt, baking powder along with flour
  • Blend the butter and the sugar together in the bowl until creamy
  • Add eggs one by one mixing until well mixed
  • Alternate flour and milk while continuing to mix
  • Finally add strawberry puree and mix well
  • Pour into the cake pans and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes, then flip each pan over onto the rack, tapping gently to remove the cakes. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting to avoid melting

Confectioners sugar - 1 cup
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp


  • Mix cream cheese and butter until mixed thoroughly
  • Add confectioners sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well
