Jam

Yields 500 ml

Ingredients

*Fruit - 3 cups (mashed or coarsely ground/grated)
**Lemon Juice - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 1/2 cups
Clove - 1 tsp
Nutmeg powder - 1/4 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
Water - 1/2 cups

* Banana, Mango, Strawberry, Apple, Plum, Cherry, Tomatoes, Grapes, Pineapples and Peaches
** Use two tablespoons of lemon juice with Grapes and Pineapples

Preparation method

  • Add water and sugar in a pan and bring it to boil. Boil for a few minutes without burning
  • Add cloves, nutmeg powder and cinnamon powder. Boil for a couple of mins
  • Lower heat to simmer or low. Add lemon juice and fruit
  • Cook until you get the consistency of jam. It takes anything from 45 mins to 75 minutes. You may have to mash the fruit while it cooks to get a good even consistency.
