Valakkai/Potato Bajji



Ingredients
Raw Banana - 3
Gram flour/Besan - 1/2 cup
Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Fermented Idly Batter - 2 tbsp

Water
Oil
Salt

Preparation method
  • Mix besan, chili powder, salt, baking soda and idly batter together
  • Add little water and mix well so that there are no lumps
  • Add water while you continue to mix. Stop when batter has the consistency of idly batter
  • Peel the raw banana/potato. Cut long thin slices of banana
  • Heat oil in a bowl to fry in low/medium
  • Dip cut raw banana in batter. Fry until golden brown
